As Benjamin “Ben” Parker said “With great power comes great responsibility“, this is true with any new technology advance, imagine if Marie Curie not had continued with their pioneer radioactivity studies because is possible that will be dangerous, at this moment we don’t have radiotherapy to treat cancer, radiocarbon dating in archaeology, power our spacecraft and supply electricity to satellites that are sent on missions to the outermost regions of our solar system where the solar power is not a choice; because this for me is impressive ear respected people like Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking talking so ease about an AI apocalypse were we would create an AI that was able to adapt and evolve on its own, and would do so at such an accelerated rate that it would move beyond human ability to understand or control, when the reality is so far away from that.
Near to 6 month passed from the launch of Windows 10 and the massive campaign to upgrade from windows 7, 8 and 8.1; but with that upgrades come some bugs that freeze it when is at the 83% of the whole process and during the 33% of the configuring settings, and this is known like the 83-33 of the dead.
Every one that have years working at the security ITC area know that so many security breach are caused by stack overflow, out of range, malformed parameters and NULL pointer exceptions to mention the more commons; this unhanded errors open gaps that interrupt the program’s flow leaving it in an undetermined state, and this is the factor used by hackers to insert tampered instructions in the programs’ flow in order to gain access to resources that is not supposed to have.
Today, after almost 7 years has passed when JulianBolivar.com website was closed due to the political situation that is passing my natal country Venezuela.
I’m returning to talk about my passion, the technology evolution and trends, but now with a more Information Technology and Communications (ITC) security focus point of view based on my expertise acquired during this 7 years but keeping a balanced point of view other technologies and with my other interest like Artificial Intelligence (IA) and Embedded systems.
Regards to everyone and welcome to this new space at BolivarTech.
